The Marketing Gal: Tools of the Trade

August 8, 2013

I woke up the other morning, just like any other morning, and immediately engaged my daily routine, which starts bright and early at 5:20 a.m. sharp. Alarm kicked off and so was I! Checking emails and social accounts before my feet even hit the floor, I started to think about the everyday essentials that make this marketing gal efficient and effective. Here is a quick collage of those things that I turn to during the day to help get the job done.

1. From list-making to editing and everything in between, strong pens that cut through all inks, work with all paper types, and that can still make my daily to-do list legible is the goal. 2. Phone. I mean, you read my intro. Enough said. This is the backbone that keeps me organized and informed. Thank you, apps! 3. Sticky notes make my world go ’round! Keeping track of various vendor requests and different projects or campaigns are made easy by color-coded beauties. 4. Okay, I guess you can already tell by this list that I’m not entirely paperless. Sorry! Love me a hand-written list. And printed reports. I need the hard copies. One, I can get all of my thoughts out and edit, whether it is a doodle, cross-out, check-off, or all of the above. And revisions are kept neatly together. Oh, and SOWs and receipts. Keeping tabs on those buddies. 5. Ah, the trusty notebook. The second backbone – it keeps my handwritten to-do list as well as quick thoughts or reminders that often pop up. 6. Finally, coffee. Once those tootsies hit the floor and I’m making my way to the kitchen, the next thing I touch is the “On” button on the coffee maker. Start the day off right with a lil caffeine kick!
