Week in Review: A Collection of Love

July 26, 2013

A common theme on this blog, and in life, has lately focused on this idea of balance. And this past week, I feel like I finally started to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the balance station awaiting me on the other end. Whew! And although we had a few minor hiccups in the week, one being my maddie cakes feeling a bit under the weather, it was great! One week down – let’s keep this going!

Week in Review - A Collection of Love :: #EatSleepMarket

With a healthy combination of family time, me time, and relationship time mixed within the work schedule, I found myself not only more relaxed and focused, but extremely productive. Although I try to work every last minute out of that hour, I have truly come to understand that this idea of working smarter not harder is only possible if you first take care of your mental state. It’s with this care and consideration for the self that you can start to then take pause, clearly looking at what needs to be accomplished, assess, delegate and tackle.

Untitled-1 copyFamily time is the best. I love it when it’s just the three of us just hanging out. She’s getting to such a great stage in her life when she’s really responding to everything she sees, hears, tastes, feels. It’s amazing. Learning so much from her – another post 😉 There are a few personality traits that are starting to pop out that remind me of other family members, especially her daddy. That just reaffirms that she’ll be one of my favorites forever…as if she wasn’t already.

A little love time was fun with the hubbs. I tried raw octopus and then also squid. Calamari I can do – it’s fried so duh. But this raw creature was a bit scary. The taste was a bit crazy, but not horrible. Is it on my list of things I must eat again? No, but it was so fun doing another first with my hubba-bubba. Love it.

Me time was a hodge-podge. I bought this Starbucks Carmel Macchiato from the grocery store. Love the drink so how could I not buy it/try it? Easy. Purchased. Done. Tried it – hello, sweetness! Best over strong iced coffee or as a sweetener for your piping cup of joe. Then, I burned through this amazing tea bag sample from Birchbox – RUNA. So fresh – not too strong, but great flavor. From citrus to mint, it was all great. Enjoying this and taking a few reflective moments, acknowledging what I was doing and just saying these 10 minutes are mine is enough to recharge the mind and soul for the next few hours. I strongly suggest {aka telling you} you do this at least once a day.

How was your week? Would love to hear! Happy Weekend!
