Walk Down Memory Lane

May 5, 2014

My main squeeze and I had a few quiet moments to ourselves this weekend so we decided to take a trip down memory lane. We went back to where it all began. The beginning of us near Tower Grove Park in the Southwest Garden District.A Walk Down Memory Lane :: Tower Grove Park :: Southwest Garden District
One thing I will always love about this area are the tree-lined streets. Yes, we had our fair share of pollen-covered windshields and friendly birds making themselves comfortable on the roofs of our cars, but the evening strolls in any season can’t be beat. The community was diverse and lovable. Although we were all doing our own things, you could always count on a friendly wave and “hello!” as you passed by.

We were lucky to live so close to this amazing place, O’Connell’s Pub. This is the place where we made some of the biggest decisions of our life, not to mention this was also a regular date night spot. {and still is!} The fact that it was in walking distance to our apartment was a bonus. You cannot beat the service, the atmosphere, the new friends you’ll meet when you walk inside, the food, and the drinks.

How can you say “No” to a doughnut? Well, I mean, if you could, you wouldn’t be able to any longer with this place, World’s Fair Donuts, hanging around the corner. On a Saturday morning, you will be greeted with a friendly smile, the smell of doughnuts cooking while the baker quickly flips each fluffy ring in the hot oil, and the best cake doughnuts at a really awesome price.

Ah, Maury, I love ya. Sometimes miss ya. Will never forget ya. See ya 🙂

:0 it is so beautiful there. I love a street lined with trees. My parents had a house that was in a nice addition like that, I was young though, if only I knew how great I had it 🙂
That doughnut shop is the cutest! I wouldn’t be able to help but go once a week 🙂

I know, right? Don’t really appreciate the charm until it’s all gone 🙂 And seriously, going there once a week is EASY on the budget, but not on anything else. ha!
