My Season of Love.

November 29, 2015

I know it has been quiet around here, but I hope that will change soon. In the meantime, I wanted to pop in and say Happy Fall!

Who doesn’t love this time of year?falldrive2

Autumn isn’t just a season in our household. When I think back on the milestones of my tiny family, the dates seem to fall into that lovely three month period. So, not only am I huge fan of this season because I just can’t get enough apples, leaves, pumpkins, cozy sweaters and bonfires, but it’s when our family was made.

fallbasketI must disclose that my definition of autumn might vary slightly with Mother Earth. I adopt Labor Day weekend as the end of summer. For me, fall sweeps right in at that first week of September. And, during that week in 2009, my then-boyfriend asked me to be his wife.

If we were to take a jump back, that same guy took me out on our first date the second week of September, 2008. BUT do you know what’s even more wild? Skip over the autumn of 2009, our engagement year, and fast-forward to 2012. We welcomed our beautiful daughter on the same day we had our first date … just four years later. It was perfect. Totally destined to be.

fallwithmadsIf there was a question, yes, we had our wedding in autumn. October 16, 2010. We celebrated the five years with a family photo session and a date night.

It’s truly our season of love, and I’m taking it slow. It always rushes by so fast, but we can hold on for just a few more weeks … for the rest of our lives.
